LSI_SCSI driver errors? Win7x32 on WS2008r2x64

hey guys. new to the community/forum, not sure what this is, exactly.

we are running VMWare Server 2.0.2 on specs:

-asus P8Z68-V LE

-intel i7-2500K

-intel SSD 510, SATAIII 120GB for storage of VM itself

-WD Black, SATAIII 1TB for data storage only

-GSkill Ripjaws X series 8GB dual channel

there are NO error logs on the server, and it is running quite nicely. we are noticing, however, a delay when other systems are accessing data on the server, that it's sometimes really slow or high latency. we were thinking it had to do with either the network card on the server (built in realtek) or with the network router. then i saw the error logs in the VM.

inside VM, we are using LSI Logic on SCSI Controller 0, Bridged Network, 2GB Memory, 24GB Hard Disk 1 (SCSI0:0)

the VM, in the windows 7 logs, reports:

Event ID: 26 Warning: The driver has detected that device \Device\RaidPort0 has old or out-of-date firmware. Reduced performance may result.

so as i understand it right now, there is a driver issue with either the VM or the host. the storage controller in the VM is a "LSI Adapter, Ultra320 SCSI 2000 series, w/1020/1030", Location Information: "PCI bus 0, device 16, function 0".

I'm really not sure where to go from here. No idea where to look/investigate next. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!
